Since
January of 1990, I've run my own business hand painting clothing with
sweet images of dogs, cats, and gardening.
In 2004, combined with the recent death of my father, reaching the age of 40,
and attending Burning Man, my life forever changed. I started creating art for
the love of art rather than for money. I began a process of exploring who I am.
And here, in my art, you see its influence.
The images of the little girl in my paintings reveal my growth and desire to
express. Her name is April. She suffers all my pain. She is my warrior and my
confident, my inner child and my heart.
Through April, I am able to express on the canvas what I am unable to otherwise.
Through April, I am able to expand and explore my emotions.
Through April, I
am better able to understand who I am.
Some of the paintings may seem painful but I see in them as beauty. I find in
them healing and completion.
Thank you for sharing your time with me.
I invite your comments and critique. |
